A look at Wisconsin papers' coverage of Iowa-Wisconsin
Feb. 12, 2009 10:23 am
From the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel
Bo Ryan liked the composure Marcus Landry showed after Iowa's Matt Gatens shoved him to the floor in the Badgers' 17-point victory last night
The UW coach, however, did have one concern with how Landry handled the situation.

Trevon Hughes was superb this time.
The junior point guard scored 14 points, dished out a collegiate-high six assists and had two steals to lead the Wisconsin men's basketball team to a 69-52 victory over Iowa tonight at the Kohl Center.
It was against the Hawkeyes last month that Hughes had perhaps his lowest moment of the season when he was benched for the final 5 minutes of regulation and all of overtime for poor play. This time he set the tone for the Badgers' third straight victory.

And ...
Iowa coach Todd Lickliter gave some props to the Badgers crowd, believe it or not. He also said Cyrus Tate was a little sore, but available to play. However, Lickliter didn't want him to aggravte anything (Tate returned in Iowa's last game after being out seven games with an ankle injury).

From the Wisconsin State Journal:
It's been a tumultuous first two-thirds of the Big Ten Conference season for the Wisconsin Badgers men's basketball team.

It was the perfectly executed play.
As the final seconds of the first half clicked off the clock, junior point guard Trevon Hughes calmly penetrated into the heart of the Iowa defense, turned and kicked out a pass to open teammate Jason Bohannon, who drilled a 3-pointer just before the buzzer sounded.
