3-star WR commits to ISU over Michigan State
Jul. 23, 2013 4:26 pm
Allen Lazard strikes again.
Sort of.
Iowa State's most recent recruit, Jauan Wesley of Harvey (Thornton Township), Ill., said communicating with Lazard - the Cyclones' most coveted commitment in recent years - helped steer him toward Ames.
But it was more than that for Wesley, a 5-11, 165-pound wide receiver, who also had offers from Michigan State and Illinois, among other schools.
Something simple and basic struck Wesley, thus drawing him to Big 12, rather than Big Ten country in 2014.
"Just me feeling comfortable,” said Wesley, a 3-star recruit according to Rivals.com.
Wesley said he brings “the full package” and also cited ISU's academic reputation as a reason he committed to head coach Paul Rhoads' program.
“Next step,” he said. “It's one of the top conferences, the Big 12.”
