Two newcomers will join the Fairfax City Council, joined by two incumbents who retained their seats.
The tax will apply to overnight lodging stays within city limits, meaning residents’ own taxes will not be affected.
All five incumbents secured additional four-year terms, although only two faced challengers.
Incumbents Grant Harper and Sara Mentzer, both unchallenged, also retained their seats following Tuesday’s election.
