The Chain Reaction Bike Hub opened last May in Cedar Rapids with ambitious goals about breaking barriers to reliable transportation by providing cheap bikes for in-need community members. Ten months later, community support for the program hasn’t slowed down, according to Chain Reaction Executive Director Evan Schmidtke.
Chain Reaction Bike Hub, a new nonprofit, aims to break barriers people face to accessing reliable bikes and transportation in Linn County. Its new shop is open at 1010 Third Ave. in southwest Cedar Rapids.
