Washington Warriors victorious over Kennedy Cougars 8-1 in Mississippi Valley Conference play
The Hawks’ boys’ golf team has the potential for a strong season. They are off to a good start, ranking among the state’s best teams in Class 3A.
Cedar Rapids Washington has all the ingredients for success - talent, depth and balance. The Warriors are also fueled by chemistry and camaraderie. They have the potential for another strong season this spring.
West, which last won a title in 2020, held off Linn-Mar to take the title with 224 points in a thrilling meet at the UI Campus Recreation and Wellness Center pool. The Lions scored 220 points to post the best finish in school history.
Cedar Rapids Kennedy’s Aidyn Roman made amends for last year’s finish and avenge some losses along the way. He claimed the 138-pound Class 3A district title Saturday at Iowa City High, returning to state after a year hiatus.
