Here is The Gazette’s third installment of area high school boys wrestling individual rankings for the 2025-26 season.
The Iowa High School Athletic Association released its first installment of the state dual rankings Tuesday. Southeast Polk (3A), Clarion-Goldfield-Dows (2A) and Don Bosco (1A) are ranked No. 1. Solon duo claim titles at Fort Madison Invitational.
Cedar Rapids Prairie’s boys’ basketball team began this season with four straight road games. It took almost three weeks in before the Hawks got to play on their own floor, celebrating it with a 78-60 win Monday night over Cedar Rapids Kennedy.
Iowa State and University of Northern Iowa close the first half of their seasons. Luther had a strong showing at Gator “Boots” Duals. Battle of Waterloo highlighted high school results in the Wrestling Weekend That Was.

The Battle of Waterloo has been a marquee regular-season dual tournament and this year is no different with 21 ranked teams and 134 ranked individuals.
Tyler Hilton has improved so much since a year ago. The 6-foot-8 Linn-Mar senior boys’ basketball player is averaging 25 points in his team’s first three games this season and had a mammoth 26-point, 23-rebound game Friday night as his Lions beat Cedar Rapids Prairie, 67-59, at Linn-Mar.

Iowa State, University of Northern Iowa won tournaments last weekend. Iowa had four champions in Wisconsin. The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders are a good hockey team. They have gathered standings points in two-thirds of their games, have been competitive night in and night out. But they are 0-7 in games that have gone past regulation, including 0-5 in shootouts after a 2-1 loss Sunday to Fargo.
The Hawkeye guard scored a career-high 32 points, with four Hawkeyes recording double figures in the Sunday night win.
