Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, who has been calling Iowans to talk about a 2016 presidential bid, will help raise funds for the Iowa Victory Committee while he's in Des Moines this weekend.
Paul is among the potential 2016 presidential candidates scheduled to make an appearance at the Republican Party of Iowa State convention June 14 at Hy-Vee Hall in Des Moines. The others are Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and former Pennsylvania U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum, the winner of the 2012 Iowa precinct caucuses.
Paul will attend a 'cocktail round-table' at the home of Sue and George Frampton in Clive Saturday after the convention. Other hosts include Debra and Jerry Spaeth.
Among the attendees, according to the invitation, are Gov. Terry Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds, and Sen. Chuck Grassley.
