Mar. 5, 2014 8:46 am
Wisconsin U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, the 2012 Republican vice presidential nominee, will be the keynote speaker at the Republican Party of Iowa's Lincoln Dinner next month in Cedar Rapids.
State party Chairman A.J. Spiker confirmed Wednesday that Ryan will be the featured speaker at the party's major spring fundraising event, which will be held on Friday, April 11 at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Cedar Rapids. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with program and dinner service beginning at 7 p.m. A private sponsor's reception with photo opportunity will take place prior to the dinner.
"As our party's nominee in 2012, Paul Ryan brought a tremendous amount of new energy to our ticket," Spiker said in a statement. "As a congressman he's created a conversation about the budget that most in Washington are unwilling to have, and he's a proven leader armed with solutions to expand opportunity for all Americans."
Tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased by visiting the Republican Party of Iowa's website at
