The Democratic challenger for Iowa’s Second Congressional District worked the phones to urge voters to support her bid for office against incumbent U.S. Rep. Ashley Hinson.

Iowa football players discussed the importance of their “civic duty” of voting during a media availability on Election Day.

On the final day of campaigning, Republican U.S. Rep. Ashley Hinson and Democratic challenger state Sen. Liz Mathis were out in Marion. Hinson cast her ballot Tuesday morning, while Mathis met with voters at a local grocery store.

Ballots are being cast at the polling location in southeast Cedar Rapids on Tuesday.

A line greeted people who showed up to vote at Lovely Lane United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids on Tuesday. One voter said in all the years she’s voted, Tuesday was the longest she’s had to wait to cast a ballot.

Trump endorses Brenna Bird for attorney general

The rush to sway and turn out voters will continue through Election Day on Tuesday.

Trump's rally came as the former president appears poised to launch a 2024 White House bid once the midterms have concluded. "In order to make our country very successful, and safe and glorious, I will very, very, very probably do it again," he said.

The former president has teased for months that he plans to make another White House run, routinely telling supporters they will "be very happy" with his decision.

Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate said his office and law enforcement agencies are working together to ensure Iowans’ votes will be safe and counted accurately
