A couple of city and school board races Tuesday in eastern Iowa came down to just a few votes, according to preliminary numbers. Candidates in those races will have the opportunity to request a recount after the vote numbers are finalized.

Superintendent Tawana Grover said she has ‘no regrets’ about the $220 bond question, as it gave the district a chance to ‘reengage our community.’

The two top vote-getters were Molly Abraham and Lisa Williams, both with about 23%. Charlie Eastham and Mitchell Lingo both had about 21%. The next-highest was Micah Broekemeier with 5%.
