Murphy concedes to Blum in narrow House race

CEDAR RAPIDS - In a narrow race to succeed Rep. Bruce Braley, Democrat Pat Murphy has conceded to Republican Rod Blum.
At 11:07 p.m., Blum led Murphy by a about 6,000 votes, with 51 percent (142,305) to Murphy's 49 percent (135,973). Most of the precincts – 96 percent – had reported their results, with only 19 precincts remaining.
Murphy is a former speaker of the Iowa House. Blum is a Dubuque businessman.
A debate last month between the two candidates focused on international crises, including ISIS and Ebola.
