Linn Area BizPAC endorses Golding in Iowa Senate 18
James Q. Lynch Oct. 27, 2011 12:15 pm
The Linn Area BizPAC, a political action committee affiliated with the Cedar Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce, has endorsed Republican Cindy Golding in the Nov. 8 special election in Iowa Senate 18.
The endorsement was based on Golding's support of business and growing Iowa's economy. In both a questionnaire and interview, Golding called for regulatory reform and a strong business environment.
“As a business owner she has first hand experience dealing with the paperwork, regulatory burdens and environment that keep many local businesses from growing and expanding in Iowa,” the Linn Area BizPAC said. “Cindy has demonstrated her ability to balance the urban-rural tug of war that can so often occur in the Iowa Senate-finding that balance is critical for this growing area of Iowa.”
Democrat Liz Mathis declined to participate in the survey or interview process, so she was not considered for endorsement, the PAC said.
The BizPAC is a business PAC focused on business growth in Linn County, but also recognizes and considers recovery efforts due to the 2008 flood as a major consideration.
Senate 18 includes parts of Marion and Walford as well as Fairfax, Palo, Hiawatha, Robins, Alburnett, Center Point, Walker, Central City, Coggon and Prairieburg.
