James Q. Lynch Feb. 21, 2010 11:08 am
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a Republican who won Iowa's leadoff presidential caucuses in 2008, is scheduled to return to the state next week for events in Cedar Rapids and Des Moines.
Huckabee will be the featured speaker at a private fundraiser for Republican gubernatorial hopeful Bob Vander Plaats at noon Feb. 24 at the Cedar Rapids Country Club. Tickets for the event are $1,500 per person or $2,500 per couple.
At 2 p.m., Huckabee will headline a fundraiser for the Iowa Family PAC at the Airport Holiday Inn in Des Moines. It's open to the public. Iowa Family PAC describes itself as an organization that supports Christians running for office who are “God-first” candidates. The event will raise money for legislative and statewide candidates for office this year.
Huckabee will return to Cedar Rapids for a 5:30 p.m. rally for the Vander Plaats' campaign at the Cedar Rapids Marriott Hotel, 1200 Collins Road NE. That event is open to the public. Free tickets are available at
