GOPAC endorses Rogers in Iowa 1st District race

Feb. 5, 2014 8:28 am
State Rep. Walt Rogers of Cedar Falls has been endorsed by GOPAC, a Republican center for educating and electing a new generation of GOP leaders, in his bid for the Republican nomination in Iowa's U.S. House 1st District race.
GOPAC announced Wednesday its Called-Up program will work to elect Rogers and three other "proven and tested" conservative state leaders to the U.S. House of Representatives.
Through his active involvement in GOPAC programs, Rogers has shown "tremendous abilities in advancing conservative ideas that improve the lives of their constituents," according to GOPAC President David Avella. Rogers has shown the "knowledge, experience, and integrity to succeed in Washington."
Support includes receiving the maximum allowable federal contribution. In addition, GOPAC members and followers will be encouraged to donate directly to the endorsed candidates.
Three others candidates -- Gail Boliver of Marshalltown, Steve Rathjie of Cedar Rapids and Rod Blum of Dubuque -- also are seeking the nomination.
