DAVENPORT - Hillary Clinton, in a campaign stop in Davenport on Tuesday, said she would take a more aggressive tack in combating gun violence, criticizing Republican rival Jeb Bush in the process.
Clinton, who is seeking the Democratic Party's presidential nomination, held a town hall forum at the RiverCenter, where she took a range of questions dealing with how to rein in big banks, health care and the economy, among other topics.
Clinton on Monday unveiled a plan that would tighten regulation of buyers and sellers of guns by bolstering background checks, as well as making it harder for manufacturers and sellers to fight lawsuits. She said she would take executive action, if needed.
In Davenport, she seized on Bush's comments this week, arguing that more needs to be done.
'This is not just stuff that happens,” she said. 'We let it happen.”
Clinton also said she would work to improve the Affordable Care Act, noting Iowa's online marketplace. She said there needs to be more competition in the state.
Clinton also is making an appearance in Muscatine on Tuesday.
