Voters in the Center Point-Urbana school district have rejected a $9.8 million bond referendum for an addition to the district's high school.
Voters turned down the issue by a 53 to 47 percent margin. The proposal needed 60 percent approval to pass. The bond proceeds would have allowed the district to complete the district's new high school, including a 650-seat auditorium, industrial tech classroom, and wrestling and weight room.
Right now, the high school's industrial tech courses and the wrestling and weight rooms are located in another building.
