Bill Clinton to campaign in Iowa for Braley

Oct. 24, 2014 2:18 pm
DES MOINES - Former President Bill Clinton will return to Iowa to campaign for Bruce Braley, the Democratic U.S. Senate candidate's campaign announced Friday.
Bill Clinton will campaign with Braley on Saturday, Nov. 1, just days before the Nov. 4 election - and likely just a few days after his wife, former Secretary of State and 2016 presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton campaigns in Iowa.
Braley, a U.S. House member from Waterloo, is running for Iowa's open U.S. Senate seat against Joni Ernst, a Republican state senator from Red Oak. Most recent polls have showed Ernst with a narrow lead within the margins of error.
Bill Clinton will join Braley in Des Moines at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1. He will then speak that evening in Waterloo at Braley's annual 'Bruce, Blues and BBQ” fundraiser.
Hillary Clinton is to campaign in Iowa this week. Details of that trip have not been released.
The former first couple both spoke at retiring U.S. Sen. Tom Harkin's annual fundraiser in September.
