QPS Employment Group of Brookfield, Wis., has purchased Ames-based USA Staffing, a a recruiting firm with an office in Cedar Rapids that focuses on industrial,
skilled trades, and clerical workers.
USA Staffing was acquired from Steve Risius, owner and president, who will be remaining with the company as a consultant. With the 10 USA Staffing locations in Iowa, QPS Employment Group said it will be able to serve the majority of the state.
Dan McNulty, QPS chief operating officer, said the purchase of USA Staffing will add about 11 percent to his company's business. McNulty said the new Iowa offices will be branded with QPS Employment Group and the USA Staffing name will not be retained.
Employees of USA Staffing who are working on assignment at local companies will be retained and moved to the QPS payroll. USA Staffing operations and internal staff will be folded into QPS' business.
“We're excited about this acquisition, which allows us to expand our geographical reach outside of Wisconsin and Illinois," McNulty said. "This acquisition is the first step in our plan to increase our presence throughout the Midwest."
USA Staffing is the sixth acquisition for QPS since 2006. Terms of the transaction are not disclosed.
