Wine Promotion Board launches app

Finding Iowa wineries and breweries just got easier with the launch of the free Iowa Wine and Beer App available for Android-powered products.

An enhanced version of the popular print directory, the app includes listings for all 100 wineries and breweries, maps, amenities and photos. The map feature allows users to see which location is closest to them and get directions.

"We had nearly 2000 downloads of the app when we launched it for Apple products in the spring," said Colleen Murphy of the Iowa Wine and Beer Promotion Board. "But we also heard from Droid users who wanted it for their devices. We listened, and now the same great information on Iowa's 100 wineries and breweries is available for them as well."

The app is available for free from the Android Market and in the Apple App Store. The traditional Iowa Wine and Beer Directory is available at any Iowa Welcome Center, at any of the included wineries or breweries or for order online at www.iowawineandbeer.com.
