Appointments
Hawkeye Area Community Action Program named Bob Untiedt (see photo) food reservoir director. Untiedt was formerly with the Linn County Non-Profit Resource Center.
Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids named Valencia Johnson (see photo) academic support and retention specialist. Johnson had served as student success adviser at Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, Ga.
Community 1st Credit Union appointed Laura Kay Sheely (see photo) director of mortgage. Sheely was previously mortgage development manager for Linn Area Credit Union, as well as having had positions at other financial institutions.
The Rev. Jerry Oakland (see photo) was hired by Matthew 25 Ministry Hub in Cedar Rapids to serve as neighborhood investment coordinator. Oakland served most recently as senior pastor of Storm Lake United Methodist Church.
Hospitalist Dr. Parag Sampat (see photo) was appointed chief medical information officer for Allen Hospital in Waterloo. Sampat will serve as a liaison between the hospital and Allen staff physicians.
ICON Industrial Services of Cedar Rapids announced two new hires. Brian Henecke (see photo), with 30 years of experience, was named president to manage operations. Todd Weiss (see photo), with eight years experience in the construction industry, joined as project manager.
Prairie Capital Advisors Inc. hired Victor Aspengren as vice president in charge of business development. Hillary Hughes also was hired as senior associate. On the heels of Prairie Capital Advisors' launch of its Cedar Rapids office, Hughes will provide project management services and related transaction analyses.
Promotions
Julie Kunkel was promoted to first vice president of commercial deposits with Hills Bank & Trust Co. in the Coralville office. Kinkel was previously commercial deposits officer.
Becky Quijano (see photo) was named cardiovascular lab manager at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Quijano has been employed at Mercy for 33 years.
Elections
Mike Brogan (see photo), CEO of Erb's Technology Solutions, was elected to the CompTIA board of directors effective Jan. 1.
