Appointments
KWWL TV in Waterloo announced Dan Schillinger (see photo) was named news director. Schillinger began his career at KWWL's sibling station, KTTC in Rochester.
Lindsey Mills, a lawyer with Scheldrup Blades in Cedar Rapids, was appointed 2011-2012 chairwoman of the Workers' Compensation and Employers' Liability Law General Committee in the Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association.
Susan Moore (see photo) joined Hills Bank and Trust Co. as financial reporting and risk management officer in the Hills office.
Promotions
Wabtec Railway Electronics in Cedar Rapids, announced the following promotions: Jeffrey Kernwein (see photo) was promoted to director of train control engineering. Kernwein was previously product line manager for train control products. James Moore (see photo) was moved up to manager in train control systems engineering. James was previously technical lead in train control products. Phillip Burgart (see photo) was promoted to manager in train control software engineering. Burgart has been principal engineer for onboard software. Robert Whitlock (see photo) was promoted to manager in lab qualification testing. Whitlock was principal engineer for onboard segment testing.

Patricia Giorgio, president and chief executive officer of Evergreen Estates in Cedar Rapids, was elected vice chairwoman of the National Center for Assisted Living, a federation of state associations.
