City State Insurance Agency hired Sharon K. Anderson (see photo) as director of business insurance for the Cedar Rapids-Iowa City area. She had been VP sales executive with Wells Fargo Insurance Services.

Nicci Keck (see photo), AW Welt Ambrisco Insurance, was named 2013 Outstanding Customer Service Representative of the Year for the state. She will compete for the national award.

The Hawkeye Chapter of the American Society for Training & Development received a Chapter Excellence Award from the ASTD International Conference & Exposition.
Heritage Nursing and Rehab in Cedar Rapids was given the NAHCA Facility of the Year Award by the National Association of Health Care Assistants.
United Way of East Central Iowa presented the John B. Northcott Award, given to volunteers who have been of outstanding service, to Marc and Cathy Gullickson, the 2012 campaign chairs; the 2012 Community Philanthropist Award to Joe Schimberg, Schimberg Co.; and the Spirit Award to the United Fire Group and its employees.
