U.S. Bank has named Curt Heideman market president in Iowa City, the company said on Tuesday, Dec. 13.
Heideman has been with U.S. Bank for nine years, most recently as vice president and manager of its business banking team in Cedar Rapids. He succeeds Bart Floyd, who left U.S. Bank to pursue other opportunities.
“We are very fortunate to have Curt as our Iowa City market president," said Nancy Kasparek, U.S. Bank president in Cedar Rapids, in a statement released by the bank. "He is a lifelong Iowan and a leader who is respected by his colleagues at U.S. Bank. It will be a smooth transition - our customers will continue to receive excellent customer service, banking products and services.”
Heideman earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and a master's degree in sports administration from the University of Iowa. He was a member of the UI's 1995 and 1996 National College Athletic Association championship wrestling teams, and was selected Academic All Big Ten in 1994, 1995 and 1996. He was coached by Dan Gable, a member of the National Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame.
“I am excited to join and lead the U.S. Bank team in Iowa City,” said Heideman. “I am a proud alumni of the University of Iowa (UI), so it will be like going home for me. I look forward to meeting our customers and becoming an active member of the community.”
Heideman was the head wrestling coach and assistant football coach at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa before he joined U.S. Bank.
Heideman and his wife, Leah, have one child. They are relocating from Cedar Rapids to Iowa City.
