Eight speakers are slated to discuss the theme of 'The Power of the Community” for the Aug. 30 TEDx at hotelVetro in downtown Iowa City.
TEDx is a locally organized spinoff of the not-for-profit TED program.
Scheduled speakers in Iowa City - some on stage and other via video - for the event will include:
l David Gould, administrator at the University of Iowa's Belin-Blank International Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development
l Ryan Siskow, president of Consult 3C and author
l Lisa Song-Sutton, real estate investor and entrepreneur
l Bisi Williams, chief insights officer for Massive Change Network, a design consultancy
l Marc Zornes, former manager at McKinsey and Company and founder of Winnow, a food waste-management company
l Sarah Gardial, dean of the Henry B. Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa
l Kent Stock, teacher, middle school principal and coach of the 1991 Norway, Iowa, baseball team that became the basis of the movie 'The Final Season”
l Paulo Simas, creative and business strategy professional and entrepreneur.
