Shoppers Cash in on 'Mega Monday'
Dec. 26, 2011 9:04 pm
Who needs six rolls of wrapping paper the day AFTER Christmas? Shoppers say, someone who is thinking ahead.
Shopper Cassie Hiatt said, "otherwise next year I'll come out and it will all be full price so it's much better to stock up on in it now. "
Returning that ugly sweater, or broken toy is typically the thing to do on the day after the big day.
That's certainly part of this post Christmas chaos. But Target managers say this year it seems business is a little different.
Target's Courtney Schott said, "we are seeing a bit of increase in sales with the economy everyone wants a good bargain so they are getting those from us. "
Target is selling all of its Christmas merchandise for half of the original price.
Schott said, "a lot of stuff is going out the door today which is a good thing. "
It's the same deal at many other stores.
Managers are banking on these deals bringing in enough business to meet sales goals by the end of the year.
As long as shoppers can handle the long lines and crowded stores
Hiatt said, "It's worth 50 percent off. Yeah I would say so. "
