New Hires
StratosFour Inc. in Cedar Rapids announced the appointment of Karen Jackson (see photo) as sales engineer. Jackson was previously with MobileDemand.
St. Luke's Physicians & Clinics Monticello Family Medicine hired Natalie Weber (see photo) as a physician assistant. Weber received her physician assistant degree from Des Moines University.
Dr. Fred Goldblatt (see photo) joined St. Luke's Physicians & Clinics Marion Family Medicine. Goldblatt had been the director of pre-hospital services for the Navy and Marines.
Shive-Hattery added three employees: Kyle Faille (see photo) as an engineer intern, Bill Jenkins (see photo) as a construction administration manager and Ted Schmidt (see photo) as a surveying technician.
Kendall “Ken” Fate (see photo) and Kim Wilkin Korte (see photo) joined Psychology Associates in Cedar Rapids.
Carla Davis (see photo), blog talk radio host of “Me 2 We with Carla Davis,” started in the newly created position at the Wilson Avenue Hy-Vee as catering coordinator.
Promotions
MidWestOne Bank promoted Melisa Henley (see photo) to North Liberty mortgage banker. Henley had been North Liberty retail branch manager.
Veridian Credit Union announced that Kim Fettkether, Karris Golden, Eric Kinman and Michele Starkenburg will be the first participants in its Executive Development program. Fettkether was most recently assistant to the president. Goldenhad been president/chief operating officer of Wasendorf & Associates Inc. Kinman had been manager of marketing. Starkenburg was supervisor at Veridian's Ankeny Main branch.
Allison Carter (see photo) is now a part of the Skywalk Group's recruiting team.
The Cedar Rapids Fire Department announced two promotions: Andy Olesen (see photo), previously fire captain, was moved up to battalion chief, and Brent Smith (see photo), formerly a firefighter, was promoted to fire captain.

Judy Stevens was elected chairwoman of the Iowa Real Estate Commission by her fellow commission members. Stevens is a broker associates Skogman Realty and facilitator for Skogman Real Estate School.

A website for Physicians Clinic in Iowa, created by Hanser & Associates, received a national APEX Award of Excellence.
Seminars
Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Area will host the free workshop “Sowing Stories, Reaping Meaning: Developing an Interpretive Strategy for Your Site,” 1 to 3 p.m., Thursday, July 26, at the Iowa Transportation Museum, Grinnell; and 10 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, Aug. 8, at the Farm House B&B, Fredericksburg.
