Residence Inn opens in Coralville

A 100-suite Residence Inn by Marriott has opened in Coralville, designed for stays of five nights or more by business travelers.
The hotel at 2681 James St. is owned and managed by Hawkeye Hotels of Burlington. Rates vary depending on length of stay.
Residence Inns are designed as all-suite hotels that offer studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom options. Each suite includes a large work desk, ergonomic chair and complimentary high-speed Internet access.
The suites also offer a fully equipped kitchen with a coffeemaker, microwave oven and residential-sized appliances. The Coralville Residence Inn maintains a business library where guests can fax, copy and print materials.
Residence Inns provides guests with an indoor swimming pool, exercise room, meeting room and putting green.
The new hotel is part of Coral Galleria, a 16-acre development just south of Coral Ridge Mall. Plans for the Coral Galleria development include at least two hotels, several restaurants and an undetermined number of retail stores.
Hawkeye Hotels developed the Homewood Suites and Hampton Inn & Suites in northeast Cedar Rapids and the Fairfield Inn & Suites in southwest Cedar Rapids. The family-owned company owns and operates more than 30 hotels in the Midwest.
