PepperJax Grill will open a Cedar Rapids location

Fast casual restaurant PepperJax Grill will open a Cedar Rapids location in The Fountains, a mixed-use development at Blairs Ferry and Edgewood roads NE.

The restaurant is expected to open in June at 5200 Fountains Dr. NE, Suite 112.

PepperJax Grill makes fresh to order Philly cheese steaks, rice bowls, burritos, nachos and salads.

The Cedar Rapids PepperJax Grill restaurant is owned and operated by Restaurants Inc., which owns and operates all of the HuHot Mongolian Grills in Iowa.

Based in Omaha, Neb., the chain operates eight restaurants in the Omaha/Council Bluffs area. PepperJax Grill also has restaurants in Clive, Ankeny and Davenport, as well as South Dakota, Missouri and Kansas.

PepperJax Grill is expanding in Iowa, South Dakota and Kansas, with plans to open new locations in Cedar Falls, Iowa City and Sioux City as well as Cedar Rapids.

The Fountains is a 19-acre development that will eventually include 45,000 square feet of retail space and 200,000 square feet for offices.

Other retailers in the development include Sanctuary Spa, Salon Jude, Jimmy Johns, Red Wing Shoes and specialty grocery store Olive's Oil.
