One C.R. Sonic drive-in closed
The Sonic drive-in restaurant at 560 33rd Ave. SW closed abruptly on Thursday.
While the management erected a "closed for season" sign on a barricade, the three-year-old restaurant and its 1.1-acre site have been listed for sale at $1 million.
Iowa Drive-Ins LLC, the Cedar Rapids company that owns and manages area Sonics, did not immediately return a call seeking information. An employee who confirmed the closing said managers indicated business had been too slow to continue.
Anther Cedar Rapids Sonic at 2905 Blairs Ferry Road NE was unaffected.
