New Pioneer Co-Op sets 'new store planning' news conference Tuesday

New Pioneer Food Co-op officials have planned a news conference at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance to "provide an update on new store planning."
New Pioneer has been considering opening a third location, possibly in Cedar Rapids, where the co-op has 5,000 member customers. The co-op's current stores are in Iowa City and Coralville.
In June, New Pi members voted overwhelmingly to pursue a third store in the Co-op's current trade area, or to relocate the existing downtown Iowa City store if a suitable location could be found.
