The new owner of a truck stop on Interstate 80 at the Brooklyn exit has upgraded the facility since buying it in October and plans additional changes.
Travel Centers of America said its third truck stop in Iowa is equipped with seven diesel fuel lanes equipped with high-flow dispensers and bulk Diesel Exhaust Fluid, a travel store, Country Pride full-service restaurant, Dunkin' Donuts Express, five newly remodeled showers on a fully automated system, and a drivers lounge with DIRECTV and NFL Sunday Ticket service.
The newest Iowa TravelCenter also offers WiFi Internet service, a full laundry facility with state-of-the-art equipment, an ATM, check cashing and TripPak services.
The 9,000-square-foot Brooklyn truck stop is located on 8.3 acres of land. It was previously operated as Randhawa's Travel Center.
Tom O'Brien, president and CEO of TravelCenters, said the company will add a 63-space truck parking lot and a CAT scale in the near future. O'Brien said a four-bay truck service facility also will be built in the future.
Westlake, Ohio-based TravelCenters operates 250 stopping centers in 43 states and Canada. TravelCenters also operates convenience stores in Kentucky and Tennessee under the Minit Mart brand name.
