New hotel coming to Marion
A new hotel coming to Marion will anchor an ongoing mixed-use development in the city, its developer announced Wednesday.
The developers behind Squaw Creek Crossing said they will start construction on a Country Inn and Suites this spring. The 100-room hotel is expected to be complete in spring 2019.
Once finished, the hotel will anchor the 20-acre development, which sits at the corner of Highways 13 and 151 in Marion.
'There is already high demand for an upper-midscale hotel in Marion's eastern gateway, and demand will continue to grow upon completion of the Prospect Meadows baseball complex,” Brian Ridge, a member of Squaw Creek's development group, said in a news release.
Squaw Creek's developers have marketed the site as the first large-scale mixed-use development in Marion and one that will act as a gateway into the city.
Dupaco Community Credit Union previously announced it would open a branch in the development. No other tenants have been named.
