Leadership changes at SouthGate Companies

The board of directors of an Iowa City real estate investment and development company has named new leadership and hired a chief financial officer.
Jerry Waddilove has been appointed president and co-chief executive officer at SouthGate Companies and Janie Braverman has been named general counsel and co-CEO.
Waddilove joined SouthGate in 2013 as chief operating officer. He previously gained more than 13 years of commercial banking experience with MidWestOne Bank and Hills Bank, including work with several development and real estate investment companies.
Braverman has been with SouthGate since 2009. She has more than 30 years of legal experience, owning her own firm from 1986 to 2004 working primarily on real estate transactions.
Caleb Wilson has joined SouthGate as chief financial officer. Wilson had served as CFO for Reliant Long Term Care since 2011.
Wilson's areas of expertise include preparing projections, financial analysis and cash flow of potential acquisitions, asset valuation, acquiring financing, and executing the transaction and transition.
Before his tenure with Reliant Long Term Care, Wilson worked for Deloitte and Rockwell Collins.
SouthGate has developed more than 600,000 square feet of commercial real estate, including build-to-suit properties, turnkey sales and multi-tenant facilities.
Founded by David Braverman in 1962, SouthGate manages about 300,000 square feet of office, retail and industrial space.
SouthGate's residential construction history includes the development of more than 1,000 apartments, condominiums and single family residences. The company manages more than 600 residential units, including condos, apartments, townhomes, duplexes and houses.
