A series of 17 regional reports on the Iowa economy have been released by Iowa Workforce Development and the Iowa Economic Development Authority.
The reports compare the 17 Iowa Workforce Development regions to the statewide economy across a wide range of economic and work force measures. Each region consists of between two and seven counties. The Corridor area is Region 10.
The reports available online at http://www.iowaworkforce.org/lmi/absur/status_reports/statusreports.htm accompany the Iowa Workforce and Economic Development Status Report released in January.
"As Iowa moves through a period of strong economic growth the baseline information provided in the status reports will assist regions in developing economic plans suited to their particular region," Iowa Workforce Development Director Teresa Wahlert said in prepared remarks.
The report also outlines opportunities and challenges Iowa faces in relation to Gov. Terry Branstad's goals in job creation, family income improvement, state government cost reduction and improvement of education, according to Iowa Workforce Development.
