Iowa Workforce Development’s IowaWORKS.gov website, which developed an outage on Sunday, was expected to remain down through Tuesday, the state agency said in a news release Monday.
The outage was not expected to affect jobless payments, it said.
The vendor-related outage was “disrupting the weekly continuing unemployment claims and jobs search process for claimants,” according to the news release.
New unemployment claims have been unaffected, the agency said, because they are filed solely through the IWD’s central website, IowaWorkforceDevelopment.gov.
Until the site is fixed, IWD advised unemployment claimants to skip reporting work search activities on IowaWORKS.gov and instead to file weekly claims at uiclaims.iwd.iowa.gov/weeklyclaims.
“This unfortunate outage is a problem that our vendor is working hard to fix, and we hope to have the IowaWORKS.gov website back serving Iowans very soon,” IWD Director Beth Townsend said.
