International Council changes its name

The Iowa Council for International Understanding has changed its name to the Iowa International Center today.

This change more accurately reflects the programs and services provided by this 73-year-old organization.

“Iowa is rapidly being recognized as a driving force economically, socially and in international diplomacy efforts, and the Iowa International Center is an integral part of that success,” stated Judith Conlin, Executive Director.

“From our International Visitors Leadership Programs, which brings international experts in their fields to work with local experts, to our Welcome to Iowa guide, a state-wide, multi-lingual resource for helping immigrants and refugees find housing, transportation and jobs, our highly regarded Pioneer Hi-Bred International Dialogue Series and interpretation and translation services in over 50 languages, the Iowa International Center is welcoming the world to Iowa.”
