Since 2003, ICNC Naturalist Devid Brenzel, co-principal investigator on the Tarkio Valley Sloth Project, has led the recover of the world's only known Ice Age sloth family from southwest Iowa. In cooperation with the U of I, David is using cutting-edge technology to duplicate these rare fossils. Examine the bones, learn about the excavation, research progress and what the bones tell us about the keystone role sloths played in Iowa's woodlands.
