The Iowa City Area Development Group's (ICAD) annual meeting will provide a snapshot of the Corridor's work force, including trends, perspectives from larger and small companies, and challenges that need to be addressed.
Eric Hanson, ICAD spokesman, said the Aug. 29 event, set for the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort in Riverside, will feature three 10-minute presentations from Corridor companies and a panel discussion moderated by ICAD President Mark Nolte.
"It's a nice cross-section of companies," he said.
Speakers will include Jeffrey Bohling, vice president and general manager of General Dynamics Information Technology, Jon Whitmore, CEO of ACT, and John Schnipkoweit, founder of NextStep.io.
Hanson said speakers will discuss infrastructure problems and resources for entrepreneurs.
The panel will include Sarah Fisher Gardial, dean of the Henry B. Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa; Kim Johnson, vice president of continuing education and training services at Kirkwood Community College; and Trey Martin, chief operations officer at Integrated DNA Technologies.
Tim Bradshaw, director of The Eastern Iowa Airport, will provide an update on the airport, its recent renovations and the new air service to Florida.
Networking and a cash bar will begin at 5:45 p.m., with the program start at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available through the ICAD Group office at 319-354-3939 or by registering online at www.icadgroup.com/signmeup.
Tickets are $40 for 2030 Visionaries and investors, and $45 for the public. Registration deadline is Aug. 23.
