Hurricane Grill & Wings opens in Cedar Rapids

A new restaurant at Lindale Mall in Cedar Rapids with an indoor dining room and patio that opens to the outside and seats more than 200 people opened Monday.
West Palm Beach, Fla.-based Hurricane Grill & Wings is an island-inspired restaurant chain that prepares more than 35 flavors of fresh jumbo chicken wings. The Cedar Rapids restaurant at 4441 First Ave. NE is the second location for franchisee Darin Beck, CEO and founder of Barmuda MMC in Waterloo.
Barmuda MMC owns the Hurricane Grill at Crossroads Mall in Waterloo.
Hurricane Grill employs about 100 people. It features local craft beers from Backpocket Brewing, Millstream Brewing and Peace Tree Brewing.
The original Hurricane Grill opened in 1995 in Fort Pierce, Fla. The company has 70 locations open or under construction in 15 states.
