Helix Electric plans to hire 400 people for Cedar Rapids data center work
Projects are company’s first in Iowa

An electrical contractor says its hiring at least 400 people as part of a contract on one of the Cedar Rapids data center projects.
Hiring of Iowa-licensed Journeymen, Commissioning Technicians, Site Safety Managers, Warehouse Support Staff, Foremen is already under way. The company is also looking for Superintendents and Project Managers. Applications are already open. The project is expected to span at least two years, company officials said in a news release.

This is Helix’s first project in Iowa, though the company worked on a major project at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha. Helix Electric was founded in 1985 and is now one of the nation's largest non-union electrical contracting companies.
