MUSCATINE - Grain Processing Corp. is considering expanding its Muscatine facility.
The company said it is planning a multimillion dollar expansion of its Maltrin maltodextrins capacity either its Washington, In. or Muscatine facility.
'The site of our new investment will, in part, be based on the state and community that best supports the global demand for our products and services,” said Gage Kent, CEO and chairman of Kent Corp., in a news release.
Once a location has been selected, GPC will move to finalize the engineering design and request the necessary permits to begin the construction phase.
Maltrin maltodextrins are high quality, corn based ingredients used in numerous food, pharmaceutical, and personal care applications. They function as effective carriers, binders, coating and bulking agents as well as having the ability to manage sweetness and viscosity.
Corn is transferred from one grain cart to another during harvest outside Malden, Ill.
