GEICO adding 100 jobs in Coralville

GEICO plans to expand the size of its staff in Coralville by 100 over the next year to meet growth demands, the company said Thursday.
The company said it is is currently hiring nearly 30 sales and customer service department associates, which will bring the staffing level at its Coralville operation to nearly 380.
GEICO is the third-largest private passenger automobile insurer in the United States.
“Our office in Coralville employs some 350 associates and we're growing just like the rest of the company,” said Tammy Moore, director of sales and service for the Coralville GEICO office. She said the company is seeking candidates with excellent written and oral communications skills in order to serve customers clearly and quickly.
The jobs also require strong multi-tasking skills, computer skills and a motivated and energetic attitude, Moore said. GEICO values prior customer service experience and a record of employment stability, she added.

The announcement is more good news for job-seekers in the Corridor. Internet domain registrar and web hosting company Go Daddy! will be holding a job fair at the Hotel at Kirkwood Center in Cedar Rapids from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. as it seeks to hire about 300 for its center in Hiawatha.
