Gander Outdoors plans May opening for Cedar Rapids store
A Gander Outdoors store is scheduled to open sometime in May at 2140 Edgewood Rd. SW in Cedar Rapids, at the location of a former Gander Mountain that closed in 2016.
Gander Mountain went through bankruptcy, but was acquired by Bowling Green, Ky.-based Camping World, which rebranded the store into Gander Outdoors.
The Gander Mountain store that previously operated on Edgewood Rd. closed in 2016 in preparations for a new store on Blairs Ferry Road, but those plans were halted by the bankruptcy.
An earlier news release indicated the store will employ 55 people.
