Electronics repair shop in Cedar Rapids to hold grand opening Thursday

A national franchised electronics repair business has opened its doors at 124 Collins Road NE in Cedar Rapids.

Digital Doc diagnoses and repairs cell phones, smartphones, iPods, iPads, MacBooks, TVs, gaming systems, GPS units and other electronics.

As part of the grand opening this Thursday, the company will hold repair-lab tours and PC tune-up specials throughout the weekend.

The store has three part-time technicians, said Manager Bob Geers. The 1,200-square-foot shop is divided into 400 square feet of retail space in the front and an 800-square-foot laboratory and repair shop in the back.

Digital Doc also buys used and broken smartphones, tablets, computers and other devices that are refurbished and sold with a 30-day warranty.

The store, across the street from Best Buy, is open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday.
