Dupaco Community Credit Union, Iowa's third-largest credit union by assets, has named Joe Hearn president and chief executive officer of the Dubuque-based financial services provider.
Hearn succeeds Robert Hoefer, who in October announced his intention to retire after more than 47 years of service. Hoefer will continue to serve Dupaco as a consultant to the credit union's board of directors.
Hearn, a 25-year employee of Dupaco, was previously chief operating officer. He joined the credit union in 1986 as director of marketing.
Hearn is active at the state and national credit union levels, serving in his second term as chairman of the Iowa Credit Union League board of directors. He also is a member of the board of directors of Affiliates Management Co., a wholly-owned holding company of the Iowa Credit Union League.
Hearn earned a master of business administration degree from the University of Dubuque, and is graduate of Loras College, with degrees in marketing and management.
Matthew Dodds, senior vice president of consumer lending, has been promoted to chief operating officer. Dodds, who joined Dupaco in 2003 with nine years of consumer lending experience in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Denver, Colo., will be responsible for consumer, mortgage, and business lending; branch operations and member services.
Dodds, also an active participant in regional and national credit union organizations, holds a bachelor of arts degree in finance, with a minor in accounting from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Dupaco had assets of $965.4 million on Sept. 30, according to the most recent data available. The credit union has locations in southeast and southwest Cedar Rapids as well as Asbury, Dubuque, Dyersville, Manchester, Galena, Ill., and Platteville, Wis.
