Corridor businesses receive IEDA manufacturing grants
$20 million awarded statewide

The Iowa Development Authority and the Governor’s Office awarded $20 million in Manufacturing 4.0 Workforce Innovation grants to 46 companies in Iowa.
The grants are for manufacturers with 76 to 250 employees investing in Industry 4.0 technologies to address workforce issues exacerbated by the effects of COVID-19, the IEDA said in a news release Thursday.
Recipients received up to $500,000 in grant funding and a minimum match of 25 percent was required, the IEDA said in a news release.
Another $1.9 million in Technology Investment grants was awarded to 37 companies with three to75 employees for projects that encompass the use smart technologies. These smaller companies received grants of up to $75,000 and a minimum match of one-to-one was necessary.
Companies in the Corridor receiving Manufacturing 4.0 Workforce Innovation grants were:
- Crystal Group, Hiawatha — six grants totaling $495,102.25
- Eco Lips, Cedar Rapids — $500,000
- Electro-Hydraulic Automation, Cedar Rapids — $500,000
- Midwest Metal Products, Cedar Rapids — $500,000
- New Leader Manufacturing, Cedar Rapids — $86,250
- Norman Scott dba In Tolerance, Cedar Rapids — $500,000
- Timberline Manufacturing, Marion — $500,000
- Wildhawk Investments, North Liberty — $500,000.
Companies receiving Total Equipment Technology Investment Program awards:
- DEI Sports dba DAD Manufacturing, Hiawatha — $50,000
- M&W Manufacturing, Cedar Rapids — $49,990.20
- Master Packing and Rubber, Cedar Rapids — $50,000
- Newport Industries, Iowa City — $40,000
- Woodcrafters, Marion — $50,000
- Woofable Bakery, Coralville — four awards totaling $27,338.
Companies receiving Total IIOT Technology Investment Program awards:
- M&W Manufacturing, Cedar Rapids — $24,863.16
- Master Packing and Rubber, Cedar Rapids — $25,000
- Newport Industries, Iowa City — $10,000
- Woofable Bakery, Coralville — $1,500.
