Collins lands Air Force training contract

CEDAR RAPIDS — Collins Aerospace will be working with the U.S. Air Force in developing new training systems.

Collins was one of 37 companies selected for the $32.5 billion contract.

“By leveraging our avionics systems development and existing training systems designs, Collins can deliver integrated simulations to enhance mission effectiveness,” said Sharon Tabori, senior director of simulation and training solutions for Collins Aerospace.

The Training Systems Acquisition IV contract will assess emerging training tools and technologies for aircraft and non-aircraft systems.

“In a situation where speed and cost are considerations, Collins is prepared to deliver training systems across a continuum, including hardware and software solutions,” Tabori said.

Collins, the largest employer in Cedar Rapids, is a division of RTX.
