CEDAR RAPIDS - Standing desks, quiet zones and an on-site gym will be among the features of new digs for a Cedar Rapids data company relocating to the New Bohemia District.
Collective Data, a software management provider, will relocate from downtown Cedar Rapids, 230 Second St SE No. 414, to the second floor - about 12,700 square feet - of an under construction building that's part of The Depot, which is being erected at the former site of the Iowa Iron Works plant in the 400 block of 12th Avenue SE.
'Collective Data has been on a very consistent growth pattern and with the introduction of our web-based products that growth is accelerating,” Jason Wonase, president and chief executive of Collective Data, said in a news release. 'With the addition of new employees and constant recruitment, we wanted a place that was local to the community's talent. We also wanted a space that accurately reflected Collective Data's culture of creativity, health, and life balance.”
Saxton, an interior design company with locations in Cedar Rapids and Des Moines, is creating the space, according to Collective Data.
'A major emphasis is being placed on incorporating a mix of open and collaborative environments with unique working spaces, meeting areas, and quiet zones,” according to the news release from Collective Data. 'The space also will promote health through sitting and standing desks, proximity to outdoor walking trails, and an on-premise gym.”
An official move date was not identified, and messages to Collective Data were not returned.
The Depot, a $17.8-million office-residential-retail space behind NewBo City Market, has two of four buildings in the works.
Dave Castelluccio, a portfolio manager with the developer, Ahmann Companies, said construction for the three-story building with Collective Data, will likely be complete in October and occupants may have additional finishing work. The third floor will have 13 apartments, Collective Data on the second, and the first floor will have about 12,700 square feet of retail space, which still is available, Castelluccio said.
Solair Beaute Concepts has purchased the five-story second building.
