Cedar Rapids barber shop, manager, barbers face state charges
A disciplinary hearing has been set for Jan. 24 by the Iowa Board of Barbering for a Cedar Rapids barber shop, its manager and several barbers for allegedly failing to maintain sanitary conditions and related violations of state code.
A state inspection of Million Dollar Cuts, 1506 First Ave. NE, reportedly found that sanitation rules were not posted in the barbershop. One sink was provided for five barber stations, rather than one for every two barber stations, and the area around the sink was dirty.
Disinfectant, where in use, was filled with debris and did not cover the instruments being disinfected. One barber station did not have disinfectant.
