Just over four years after joining The Eastern Iowa Airport in June 2010 as director, Tim Bradshaw is leaving to become the executive director of the Roanoke–Blacksburg Regional Airport in Roanoke, Va.
Bradshaw has directed the regional airport during a period of passenger growth, including eight straight months of record passenger numbers. During his tenure, the airport completed an inline baggage system, new ticket counters, an upgraded ground transportation area and updated Master Plan.
'It has been an honor to be a part of such a wonderful community,” Bradshaw said in a news release. 'It was a hard decision to leave, but I cannot pass up the opportunity to move back home to Roanoke.”
Bradshaw previously was deputy executive director and chief operating officer for the Louisville Regional Airport Authority in Louisville, Ky. He will be replacing Jacqueline Shuck at Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport, who has served as executive director since 1989.
Josh Schamberger, chairman of the Cedar Rapids Airport Commission, said the commission will take steps to conduct a nationwide search to replace Bradshaw. Schamberger said the commission wishes Bradshaw well in his new position.
'Tim was instrumental in building strong relationships between the airport and the community,” Schamberger said. 'He has served on several committees and boards in the area to facilitate the airport as a resource and asset to the community.”
The airport recently launched a four-year, $47 million dollar terminal renovation project that will be funded without incurring debt. No local property tax dollars will be involved and there will be no increase in fees for the airlines or tenants.
The project is funded by grant dollars from the Federal Aviation Administration and the Iowa State Aviation Fund as well as passenger facility charges.
